As part of our continuing desire to help student athletes access the highest quality placements, Student Athlete Network has successfully accessed funding through the Erasmus+ scheme, offering a fantastic gap year or work study opportunity for a recent DiSE Basketball graduates.
In conjunction with Selfoss Basketball Academy in Iceland, it is anticipated that participants will gain valuable international experience, broaden their horizons, experience new cultures and discover new ways of working.

Successful participants enjoy a 9 month program in Iceland including Full Board accommodation. An individual development plan including small group training sessions, strength and conditioning and medical support. They will then be play and train with Selfoss Karfa in the U20 and or Men’s Team where they will get invaluable experience of a new basketball culture. Participants will also receive support looking at various exit routes in professional basketball and the American College Basketball System.
In order to be eligible, for this Erasmus+ experience, you must have been enrolled in the Diploma in Sporting Excellence in Basketball program, or an alternative vocational educational pathway within the past 12 months.
